Yesterday I watched The Hurt Locker. I can't believe it took me so long to get around to it - this movie is right up my alley. (That is, the 'war movies are super interesting and look relationships under pressure and also stuff blows up!' alley.) I really liked it quite a lot - definitely one I would watch again. I liked all of the three main guys, but found James fascinating. I don't know if it's the way the character was written, or the way Jeremy Renner played him, or some magical combination of the two, but it really worked for me. Usually I don't find adrenaline junkies in my fiction that interesting. But James was just so...calm, I guess? Calm and at a loss as to why he is the way he is. Completely reckless, but not unkind.

But now obviously there needs to be a zombie apocalypse AU. For serious. Featuring  Sanborn wandering the States, being awesome. And he keeps hearing rumours about this crazy bastard who's blowing up grocery stores and shopping centers, killing zombies wholesale, and of course it turns out to be Will James: Bomb Maker, because that's exactly the sort of thing that would happen to Sanborn. And together they rescue children and grow as people. Also, Evangeline Lily with a shotgun!

Apparently Jeremy Renner is also in the upcoming Avengers movie? I would say that makes me excited, but to be honest the I AM EXCITE levels maxed out a few months back when I realized Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr were going to be in the same movie together. :D
